Solar Rebates available under the CSI program are based on a declining tier structure. As more residential and commercial solar systems are installed, the rate at which the solar rebate is awarded decreases. Basically, the longer you wait to reserve your California solar rebate and go solar, the less money you get from the State.

Edison’s residential solar rebate has less than 3 MW still available and 1 MW of this is under review. In a matter of weeks the rebate will drop from stage 3 ($2.20/watt) to stage 4 ($1.90/watt). On a 4kW residential solar system this could mean over $1000 in lost rebate money.
